​St Stithians College, affectionately known as "Saints," is a distinguished private Methodist school situated in Lyme Park, Sandton, Johannesburg. Established in 1953 by Albert Collins, William Mountstephens, and Gilbert Tucker, the college has evolved into one of South Africa's premier educational institutions. Spanning a 100-hectare estate, it comprises a unique "College of Seven Schools," including Junior Preparatory, Boys' and Girls' Preparatory, Boys' and Girls' Colleges, and the Kamoka Bush School.
The college's commitment to sustainability is evident through its green campus initiatives, and its rich history is celebrated through various traditions and events. Notably, the annual Easter Rugby Festival, the oldest of its kind in South Africa, has been a platform for many Springbok players to showcase their talents.
In the 2024 matriculation examinations, St Stithians College demonstrated exceptional academic performance. The combined results of the Boys' and Girls' Colleges yielded a 100% pass rate, with 742 subject distinctions achieved. Notably, 10 students received the Summa Cum Laude award, attaining an average of over 90%. The Girls' College ranked fourth among all-girls schools nationally, with an average of 3.62 distinctions per student, while the Boys' College secured the fifth position among all-boys schools in the country .

Once completed, it will be one of the largest in the world, with the capacity to process approximately 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day. The vision for the refinery was first revealed in September 2013 by Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote, who announced he had secured around $3.3 billion in financing. The total cost of the project was initially projected at $9 billion, with $3 billion coming from the Dangote Group and the remaining funds through commercial loans. At that time, the refinery was expected to begin production in 2016.
